Marie Joseph Guest Covid Response Policy
During these difficult times, we are offering virtual spiritual direction for all those seeking it. If you are interested in making an appointment, you may do so by contacting Fran Burke at firstname.lastname@example.org; be sure to include your name, the main concern of your appointment, times that you are available, and any other information you think may be helpful to find and schedule a spiritual director for you.
For more information on our spiritual direction offerings, please visit this page.
All center programs and events scheduled through June 1st have been cancelled or postponed. This page will be maintained with the most up-to-date information for all rescheduled programs and center offerings.
The April 17 weekend for Watercolor and Mandalas with Mary Rich has been rescheduled for June 5-7
The April 22 retreat day Mother Theresa’s Lessons of Love and Holiness with Susan Conroy has been rescheduled to September 15th
The sisters have been tirelessly praying for our community and the whole world throughout this crisis. We are pleased to report that thanks to the generosity of the sisters and our benefactors, we have continued to fully employ our entire staff. Our team has been busy renovating the center over the past few weeks with fresh paint and new carpeting. We’ve also been implementing new policies and additions to ensure health and safety of our guests.
We have been closely monitoring the guidelines from the CDC and the state of Maine as we implement new policies for your safety. To that end, we will be requiring all guests to wear masks while in public spaces during their stay. We have also installed a new entrance for our kitchen staff and sneeze guards in the dining room. We will also be limiting the number of guests in accordance with official public health guidelines. These policies are for the safety for our guests and staff, and are subject to change with reasonable notice given the ever-changing nature of these times. Any changes to these policies will be reflected on this page, but if you have any questions, we encourage you to contact our business office at (207) 284-5671.
The center will be open to guests who are residents of Maine or who have self-quarantined for 14 days starting July 1st. We plan to open to the rest of the general public as well. These dates are our most current estimate as of June 1st.
As our understanding of the pandemic shifts, we have decided to push back our reopening date to July 1st. We will continue to monitor the evolving situation to make the best decisions for the sisters, our staff, and our retreatants.
