Who is This God?
Saturday, March 24, 2018
with Aline Plante, p.m.

How do I see God and relate to Him? Is my God far away, distant; one who rewards and punishes?  Thousands of people today have a false notion of God.  Because of unhealthy experiences accompanied by distorted religious education, many cannot understand and relate to a God who is loving, tender, merciful, forgiving and faithful.  In this retreat, we will attempt to relearn and rephrase the false concepts that one may have acquired of God and thus unmask the  genuine God.  We will also see how our gut level image of God influences the quality of our prayer, our living and service to others.

Blessing ~ Discovering God’s Goodness
Wednesday, April 18, 2018
with Diane Dube, p.m.

God favors us in so many ways, yet we often don’t recognize these expressions of goodness that are poured upon us throughout our lives; especially when they come in the form of hardship, suffering or pain.  Through sharing, quiet reflection and prayer, we will explore how God demonstrates protection, assistance and favor in ordinary and sometimes hidden ways.  Come, be energized by this discovery and consider the invitation to become blessing, as we have been so richly blessed.

Creatures of the Same God
Saturday, April 21, 2018
with Lucille Thibodeau, p.m.

More and more we hear stories about all kinds of animals in the news.  Sadly, too many of these stories are about vulnerability and cruelty.  What do the Gospels tell us about Jesus and animals?  What have saints said about animals and done for them?  Why has there been a narrowing of concern for animals for hundreds of years in our Christian tradition?  What do some well-known Christians, such as Pope Francis, tell us about our responsibilities towards animals?  After looking at these questions, we will close the day with a prayer service for these creatures of God and the people who care for them.
